Formed in 2004 with the goal of raising private funds to support educational enhancement for Wythe County Public Schools, the Foundation for Excellence has successfully raised over $750,000.00 towards that purpose.  The Foundation for Excellence oversees the Summer Enrichment Program, Classroom Grants, School Grants, the PLAY Fund and the Award of Distinction scholarship program. 

The Foundation for Excellence raises funds through direct fundraising, grant writing, events, and the payroll deduction program through Wythe County Public Schools.  Currently, over 75 employees support the Foundation on a monthly basis with a financial contribution.

Although state funds for education have been drastically cut, the Foundation for Education continues to support educational excellence through enhancement funds made available to teachers and schools.  None of these opportunities would be possible without the support of our community.
